On the eve of the 21th Century in 1993 it was already very clear to me that women in our reality were Auxiliary entities. No matter their education, profession and position they had to execute decisions made mainly by the male majority in meetings of National and Community interests. It was time to make the change getting rid of “Women’s Auxiliary Groups” and organizing “Women’s Groups” where decision making, planning and execution were left to the well educated experienced Women professionals in various fields. Opposition was fierce but overcoming the difficulties was worth the struggle.Today, AGBU Hye Geen is a Unique Organization that works to empower Women both in Diaspora and Armenia.
